Love an anorak!
Have 2 of these - in black & in curry - & like em a lot. If in future this jacket is offered in grey, I'll buy a third. Preference as well for a bit more ventilation ie., pit zips. The material has a nice feel & right amount of stretch for comfort. Overall a good design & fit as expected.

Light compactible shell

- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This jacket is what I was looking for in that it is very light and compactible, a great wind breaker and rain/ snow barrier.

Just what I needed
This shell fits great and looks really cool. It kept me dry in a moderate downpour. I love the pullover anorak style and the color pops. I’m 5’11” and 180 and the large fits comfortable with a little room for layers underneath.

Not impressed with Backcountry.com

I had to pay $6 to ship this jacket only to not receive it in time for my trip. Now when I'm trying to return it they want to charge me ANOTHER $7 to return this item that I never even got to use. Will never buy from this website again.

Got this on sale as a cheaper alternative to some of my more expensive shells to keep int he car for unexpected rain and trips to the dog park to throw over whatever I'm wearing, I have an 80 pound puppy who jumps a lot when excited and as a result some unfortunate tears in other jackets. This thing really exceeds my expectations. I've bought a few other pieces from Black Diamond since and I think most of their stuff punches above their weight. It's fairly packable and durable in my experience, so far no tears!

Fine Jacket, Not for Climbing
The material is as expect, but the cut is very boxy and large in the body and spills over a harness waste band. Also the pocket is not accessible with a harness.

Great lightweight shell
Haven't used it extensively but repelled water on first rain event. Fits well for typical sizing.

Does the job!
Just used this piece as my shell on a climbing trip to Patagonia. I didnt get caught out in any major precip so I can speak to that aspect of the jackets performance. I suspect it would wet out in rain and would be excellent in colder snow conditions. At 6’ and 170lb, the medium fits perfectly over a mid layer or two. The length stays under a harness perfectly. The hood fits over a helmet perfectly as well. I like the anorak style for its lower weight. The kangaroo pocket is useless under a harness or under a pack waist belt. Im not a fan of it. The jacket could shed some weight and increase functionality by having a simple, deep chest pocket. The material on the inside can get a touch clammy. However, I wore it while hiking for several hours on a cold, windy day and it stayed plenty dry on the inside. Given the price point, I am quite pleased!

Excellent fit and performance
Great piece of gear. The Anorak style makes quick entry/exit a bit more difficult but the stretch fabric helps a lot with that. Super waterproof and comfortable. Main use for me is cycling and I haven’t overheated in the way I worried I might.
