Why We Like The PreCip Eco Jacket
The Marmot PreCip Eco Jacket is one of our favorite reliable rain shells for keeping covered from wet weather when we're backpacking and hiking. Marmot made this jacket with waterproofing and environmentally friendly fabric. Its NanoPro membrane provides waterproof, breathable protection, and fully sealed seams prevent a single raindrop from seeping through. Zippers under each arm amplify airflow and ventilation. Not only does the hood pack into the jacket's collar, the jacket can also pack in its pocket for compactness in backpacks as well as convertible coverage.

Great jacket but lining peels over time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second jacket of this style. I love it! My only complaint is over time, the white/gray lining starts to "peel" off. That's the only reason I bought another--the little flecks were sticking to my clothes.

Great jacket for steady it light rain
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Haven’t tried it in the rain yet but wore it in the shower to test the waterproofing and it performed very well. Very little water seepage into the seems, I imagine a light rain will be perfectly fine but really long in a torrential downpour may have a little seepage.

Best lightweight rain jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best lightweight rain jacket you can buy. Keeps you dry all day and is small enough to pack away when the rain stops! My husband wears M/L/32/32 and the medium fit great with room for a layer.

Light and packable jacket perfect for travel
The jacket is lightweight and packs easily into a carryon bag. I love the hood that rolls up and stores in the collar. I rejected a lot of comparable jackets made by other companies because the hood just hangs in back when not in use. I hate that.

Quality control is lacking.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality is a lot less than it used to be. Especially the zippers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rain Jacket fits great and does its job. Many compliments on the color (limelight blend) as well.

Sizing
Long - shoulders are narrow. Built for a tall, thin guy, no deltoids.

Solid Jacket - Tall Collar.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A very solid jacket. The collar was too tall for me, but that might be a personal preference. I felt like it was coming up over my face.

Downgrade Marmot in Quality
We purchased 10 of these jackets for our ERT drone crews based on past experience. The PreCip used to be a good quality jacket that would last you more than 365 days...Usually good for a few years if you looked after it. Seems like Marmot puts more effort into too many designs rather than sticking to a few great jackets. We won't be purchasing Marmot gear in the near future. Precipitation breaks down and begins to leak within a few wears.

Good gear/poor managment
The rain gear that I purchased speaks for itself but the management that claims that the “STRIVE” to keep customers happy leaves a lot to be desired.

Has the sizing changed since 2017? I love the fit of my 2017 but it looks like the 2023 size chart puts me up once size...

The waterproofing on my jacket is no longer effective. Is there a recommended productthat can be used to revive it?

Do any of the rain jackets have dual zippers?

I was wondering if the delamination problems of the inside linings peeling and flaking away of the precip eco waterproof jackets so many customers have given bad reviews on were addressed and resolved on current precip jackets ?
